Challenge
Rohan came to us a few weeks before his first transfer deadline. He had selected his university based on an interest in engineering. He chose a close-knit campus because he was coming from a country far away and wanted a small community. He had exhausted upper-level mathematics courses, wanted access to more, as well as a broader range of subjects. Rohan had previously applied to transfer to these same institutions and was denied. Rohan was busy taking 20 credits/semester. Because of his tight schedule, Rohan's counselor scheduled frequent meetings with Rohan to develop an application strategy and help craft a narrative for essays-asking lots of questions to pull unique qualities and accomplishments out of Rohan. His counselor kept Rohan on schedule by sending frequent reminders of upcoming deadlines. Between meetings, his counselor quickly responded to emails to answer questions on how to complete application steps, clarify essay feedback, and to review applications prior to submission. We were able to edit his 4 personal essays and 6 supplemental essays within a day and reviewed his Michigan application on the deadline day.
