Counselor
The College Counselor assists and coaches students throughout the college application and financial aid process by providing comprehensive academic and college advising services. The College Counselor assists students with the entire college application process, including college search, application, and acceptance.
Essential duties
Establish and maintain a cooperative working relationship with students and families based on trust, understanding, and respect for the communities with which they identify.
Educate and guide students and parents about colleges, the college admissions process, trends, procedures, and required testing
Coach students on the entire college application process and merit aid process
Assist students with researching and defining their college/university selections that fit their academic goals well
Guide students on criteria for college/university visits and tours
Assist and provide strategic feedback on resumes and essays
Assist students with the college application process, which includes editing and providing feedback on their applications
Coach and prepare students for interviews by providing mock interviewing strategies
Guide course selection, extracurricular activities, and internships

Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree or higher is required
1-3 years of editing, speechwriting, or copywriting experience is preferred
At least one year of College Admission experience is required
Proficiency in word processing is required
Computer skills, with working knowledge of the primary Microsoa Office programs
Ability to successfully pass a background check and other pre-employment screening
Salary and location
The counselor position is fully remote. The salary is $60,000-$90,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
